Nashville — Alabama's pay-per-view show, "For The Record — Alabama's 41 Number One Hits — Live From Las Vegas," is being mixed in 5.1 surround at Seventeen Grand for DVD and home video distribution. Originally broadcast in October 1998, the show was performed live from the Las Vegas Hilton where the band performed their 41 #1 hits in consecutive ofder before a sellout crowd.

Studio co-owner Jake Niceley is producing and engineeing the surround and stereo mix in Seventeen Grand's Euphonix studio. "The demand is here for more product, especially music product, to be released on DVD," says Niceley. "I'm able to do a surround mix and a stereo mix simultaneously and this makes it very cost-effective for our clients. Even if there are no immediate plans to release a particular project on DVD, it makes good business sense to go ahead and put the surround mix on the shelf."
